Authentication & signup

Public reconstructions need no account (see tier limits). For an API key, use the signup page at https://api.apertureapi.com/signup, or call the API directly:

The response returns a bearer token and your API key (ak_…) plus your account tier. Send the API key as a bearer credential on authenticated requests:

Every new account is a free 3-month trial (100 reconstructions a month). After that, pick a plan or pay-as-you-go on the signup page; your key stays the same. Keep the key secret — anyone holding it spends your quota. Lost it? Email system@apertureapi.com from the address you signed up with.
